Sediments of Dusk
Captured in a shallow lagoon on the south coast of Iceland, this series explores the quiet interplay between water, sand, and light. Here, different water sources converge β tidal seawater, glacial meltwater, and small creeks carrying fine sediment β each adding its own tone and density. Their meeting creates shifting gradients of color, from deep blue to violet and pale turquoise. As the tide advanced, foam formed from organic matter carried by the sea spread across the surface β glowing like liquid gold against violet reflections on the water and wet sand, marking the tideβs slow and constant motion.
All images originated from a rather small area that offered endless visual variation. This concentration of form and color reflects how much can be discovered within a short stretch of coastline when attention shifts from scale to detail.
