Oxidized Patterns
This series centers on the striking surface textures and vivid iridescent colors formed by iron bacteria at the edges of reservoirs and moorland pools in Southern Norway. The thin biofilms shift between earthy browns, deep blues, and metallic sheens—producing patterns that appear almost painted or chemical in origin.

Where the surface begins to dry, it fractures into delicate, glass-like structures that challenge our perception of scale and substance. What looks artificial or industrial is in fact entirely natural, created by slow microbial oxidation. From a distance, some scenes even resemble satellite imagery of polar regions—scattered fragments floating like ice in a vast, dark sea.
